I am SUPER excited to say I will be exhibiting my artwork at the beautiful Menier Gallery which is situated within the historic Menier Chocolate Factory only minutes away from the London Bridge, Borough Market, and the famous Tate Modern! Since I don't have the funds to travel to London in person I opted to ship my artwork there via Canada Post Express. It's always stressful shipping artwork but I am glad to say the pieces arrived safely and in perfect condition! A big thank you to Leila Bibizadeh (owner of Exhibit Here) for taking pictures of my work to reassure me (see below).
I cannot believe my "True Beauty" artwork 'Dana McCool' and my "Self Portrait" will be internationally exhibited from April 14th to the 18th! If any of you lovely people in London can make it to the show to take some photos for me I would be SO very grateful! Exhibit Here always takes beautiful pictures of their exhibits but it would be so nice to have a few extra from friends and fans. Be sure to include yourself in them! If you're planning on making an appearance please let me know at Info@MalindaPrudhomme.com!
My artworks arrived safely in LONDON!
The beautiful interior of Menier Gallery! Love the spiral staircase!
I love that the interior of the gallery is just as beautiful and unique as the exterior.
A beautiful mix of modern and historical! I just love this gallery!
I cannot wait to see photos of my artwork up in this beautiful gallery!
Did you know The Shard is just down the road from the Menier Gallery!?
I am very excited to announce that the next issue of Art Katalyst Magazine will have an awesome feature on my newest series and exhibit "True Beauty"! A guest from the Opening Reception, Patrick Lemieux, has submitted his review of the show which will be very cool for people to read! I've also submitted my own thoughts about the series and event as well as many images of my work and the exhibit for the Art Katalyst team to consider. I am so excited to see the "Nature, Growth, and Activism” issue which is set to be released on April 1st 2015! Be sure to get your copy! :D
I'm so very fortunate to have met Neil Shelton, the Publisher of HOLR Magazine, at an outdoor Art Show! He has been so supportive and truly believes in my ability to succeed and thrive as an artist. He trusts so much in my career that he has given me the opportunity to show my work in his national magazine. In the first issue I was gifted with a centerfold featuring my "Curvy Beauties" series and a full page in the front of the magazine featuring my piece "One And The Same". In the next issue I was given the opportunity to show my HUGE Indian Bride painting "Preeti Ruby Indian Bride" on a full page. BUT THIS ISSUE is very exciting because he requested I ACTUALLY BE IN the feature along with my artwork! When we met to discuss it I was decked out in my usual PJ's, braid, and glasses; and he said he wanted me to look just as I did. Too cute! I definitely brought up my appearance a notch but still stayed true to my comfy down-to-earth look. I cannot believe my silly self will be in a NATIONAL LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE! I'm so blown away! This is definitely a fun issue worth checking your local Chapters or Indigo for! Stay tuned to any of these links to find out when it is released!
I'm thrilled to have two of my "True Beauty" artworks (Nici Shipway & Tia Brazda) hanging at Duke's Refresher + Bar (located on Gerrard off of Yonge). When Del Mahabadi contacted me to ask if I'd participate I was completely overwhelmed with other things (posting about my Solo Show, setting up new commissions, etc.). But when she explained everything to me; that my work would be up for a MONTH free of charge and with no commissions taken, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. And I'm so glad I didn't because I've had the pleasure of chatting with Del twice in the past little while and she is just absolutely lovely. :)
My works have been up since March 1st 2015 and will remain up until April 4th at midnight. Speaking of APRIL 4th; on that evening Duke's Refresher + Bar will be holding an AMAZING closing night event starting at 9PM for anyone 19+. There is NO COVER, there will be $5 beers all night, free cotton candy, and recently SIDE LAUNCH Brewery has agreed to sponsor 'My Wildest Dreams' with complimentary beer tastings all night! It's bound to be lots of fun and I hope to see you there!
In the summer of 2014 I was approached by Ben Navaee Gallery about doing a Solo Show and I was over-the-moon ecstatic! I spent the next 7 months planning and preparing a whole new body of work entitled "True Beauty". I also decided to included some of my other beauty inspired pieces to complete the show. It ran from January 30th to February 12th 2015; having been extended an extra week before the show even began. Seeing all of my work fill a gallery (and in Toronto, no less!) and host an awesome opening night was a dream come true. I will never forget this amazing experience. :)
My artwork's home for two weeks, Ben Navaee Gallery!
The first portion of the wall features a part of my "True Beauty" series and the other holds my "Self Portrait", "A Mark Of Beauty" series, and my portrait "Winter Beauty".

It will have sparkling acrylic gems adhered to it when it's complete.
The LAST day of my first exhibition!
The front table and my artwork "Coloured Inspired Beauty" which hopes to capture
the beauty of Christina Hendricks.
I had to take another picture of my Christina Hendricks artwork "Colour Inspired Beauty"
because I thought those who aren't from Toronto might like to see the TTC
Streetcar. Growing up in Sudbury you don't experience these! Haha

My centerpiece of the "True Beauty" series featuring the beautiful Delena Providence who grew up in my neighbourhood as a child and has always inspired me. This piece was admired by many.
On January 30th 2015 I opened my very First Solo Art Exhibition at Ben Navaee Gallery in Toronto! My new "True Beauty" series looked lovely and it was incredible to have a gallery filled with my work. That alone would have been satisfying, but the amount of people who walked through the show that night makes me burst with gratitude. Local friends surprised me, many from the art community had my back, family and friends traveled hours to make my day extra special, and new admirers stopped by. Well over a hundred people saw my art that night ... it boggles my mind! I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for making this one of the most amazing nights of my entire life. I am still overwhelmed. I could not have asked for more. :)
A special thank you to Alexandria Karakis of FotoFlares for capturing the night in an awesome video! Also thank you to Frank McKinney from SNAP for photographing and doing a piece on the event. :)
Myself with the beautiful Jenny Blackbird in the above "True Beauty" portrait.
These amazing people (My aunt and uncle, cousin and his wife (my muse)) traveled from London, Ontario to be there for my opening night! Love you guys! :)
Darren said I'd cry when I saw these two and I definitely did! It was so awesome having our friends Carolyn and Freddy there. We hadn't seen them in a long while. :)
My beautiful muse for the center piece of my new series, Delena Providence, lives in Sudbury (my hometown) and though she had planned to attend, her Mom fell sick and she wasn't going to make it. I was so bummed. When she came in I was overwhelmed with emotions. She had driven four hours by herself in the dead of winter to make it to my show. I'm still so touched.
On top of the incredible surprise of seeing Delena, my "best" cousin Christiane SUPER surprised me all the way from Markstay, ON (4-5 hours away). I love all of my cousins but Christiane has been attached to me, and I her, since I was born. It was just the most amazing thing that could have happened. My heart is still bursting!
Christiane, her husband Calvin, and I! So so happy!
My support system, my loving family!
Darren (my fiance), my Papa, and my Mom.
A little last minute touching up.
