From December 5 to December 16 2013 I will be exhibiting and selling my original artworks in "The Collective Show".  Join me at the Opening Reception on Saturday December 7th 2013 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. "The Collective Show" will be my only winter show this year! So, if you were hoping to purchase my artwork after seeing it in person, or are looking for a special gift, please visit this incredible show. :)

The Collective Gallery was also kind enough to feature my portraiture on their blog! They have told me they've had some interest in my portraits due to the post and that is very exciting! Please view the blog post HERE.

I hope to see you on Opening Night! :D

Willow Vine Charcoal

It was so nice to get these fingers full of charcoal again! Dawn Munro, a fellow teacher I met while getting qualified to teach Visual Arts, contacted me a while back saying she wanted to support my art career by offering me a payed project of my choice. Wow, this was the first time someone gave me full range to create something custom for them. After a bit of discussion, and based on an artwork Dawn had mentioned, "Trinkets From A Culture Unknown", I decided to create her a luscious charcoal still life of items she collected during her travels.

I hoped to showcase each object with a unique shadow in order to express how each trip, location, moment, memory has a unique affect on who we are.  I personally find that I learn something new about the world and about myself every time I travel.  I hope this resonates in the piece. It was really a pleasure to create and I hope it brings added joy to Dawn's home. :)

Oil Paint on Canvas

Anita Giesbrecht and I made this project official back in May but due to a very busy summer I wasn't able to complete it until recently. I hope Anita and her husband Dwayne think it was worth the wait. :)

These two custom couples portraits depict Anita and Dwayne's parents using many layers of oil paint.  I am so thrilled with the results! The detail, bright colours, and high level of realism really make these two artworks extra special. After meeting the couple and seeing how much these artworks will be appreciated I felt so happy. This is what I was meant to do; create beautiful impressive pieces of artwork that will be treasured for generations.

Thank you Anita and Dwayne Giesbrecht for your business and continued support of my work. :D

"In The Studio With Malinda Prud'homme" an EXHIBIT HERE Feature!

Read The Interview

At the end of October 2013 I was asked, not only to become an Exhibit Here artist, but to be featured with an "In The Studio With ..." interview! What an incredible honour! Every time I am asked to take part in a feature I can't help but get excited; it will never get old!

The interview focuses mainly on my work and artistic process. I always take these interviews as an opportunity to be honest and real. I hope that comes across in my responses. :)  The piece also features some great photos of me, my studio, and my great love Maverick.

I would like to sincerely thank Exhibit Here for their support of me and my work. You're shares and posts have really brightened my days this last month. :)

I hope you all have a second to check out this awesome feature and browse through this lovely website.
