Malinda Prud'homme @ "Spitting Image"
Last Thursday January 30th 2014 I exhibited five of my artworks in Moniker Gallery's "Spitting Image" show which was dedicated to portrait and figurative art. I was thrilled to not only exhibit in Toronto's Moniker Gallery but also to be a part of a show dedicated to my passion. The opening reception was a huge success; it was packed! What an incredible night. HUGE thank yous and props go out to Michelle and Daniel for putting together an awesome show. :)
I hope you enjoy my photos from the opening night!

Malinda Prud'homme @ Black Water Art 2014
I was very excited to see Leah again! She was the coordinator of the FAVA program at Nipissing University and I hadn't seen her in four years. I didn't get to chat with her in person but it was nice to see her enjoying my artwork. :)
Here is my beautiful and caring friend Whitney who, two years in a row now, has taken the time out of her busy life to visit the Black Water Art show to take photographs for me. Since I can't afford the travel expenses I am not able to see the show in person but thanks to Whitney I always feel like I was there! Thanks so much my love, you know this means so much to me. :)
See my artwork and biography up on the White Water Gallery website HERE.

Malinda Prudhomme @ The Collective Show
Sometime during the hustle and bustle of creating holiday custom artwork and going away to Costa Rica I forgot to post about "The Collective Show" I took part in at the Artscape Triangle Gallery! It was a great little show that ran for about a week and though I didn't make any sales I'm glad to have had the exposure. I hope you enjoy the photos! :)

Over the weekend I received some GREAT news! My artwork "Colour Inspired Beauty" and my series "A Mark Of Beauty" were accepted into Moniker Gallery's portrait exhibition "Spitting Image". Some of you might remember that Moniker Gallery is the first gallery I exhibited at in Toronto which was also my first time exhibiting in Nuit Blanche! It was an incredible experience, a beautiful gallery, and a great crowd! I'm really looking forward to exhibiting at Moniker again and am even more excited about exhibiting in a show inspired by the art of portraiture. I hope you can make it to this awesome exhibition! It would be great to see some familiar faces and meet some of you for the first time. :)

COMMISSION
I was thrilled to create this custom abstract painting for my amazing cousin Nickie Beaulieu. She and her entire family have been so incredibly supportive of me throughout my artist journey. Her brother, father, and her mother had already purchased artwork from me before she made her request. Nickie will now have two of my original artworks in her home and it means so much to me that they will bring her happiness. :)
When Nickie contacted me she expressed a desire to capture her passion for music through abstract art. She said, "The reason why I want this painting done is two fold. Art and Music is very important in our family so it always makes me think of them. Also, it represents my journey in trying to hold onto the one instrument I can play, the piano". She explained that she had stopped playing the piano for many years but recently started back up and hoped to never stop again.

In order to create this custom piece I kept Nickie's passion for music in mind and tried to stay true to some guidelines she set out.
- Line work
- Music notes
- Texture
- Dark colours
- Black/Purple
- Hints of white
- A bright colour
- Piano Keys
I know Nickie loves the results! What do you think? I hope you enjoy it. :)
