I am very pleased to share with you my very first book cover! The journey began back in May 2013 when I was approached by author Aubrey Wynne about potentially creating her a custom book cover. Over many months we discussed the storyline and characters and together we created a composition that would represent the novel. "Magnificent Valour" features the four musketeers and a beautiful blond female. We symbolized this by using four swords to represent the musketeers and a beautiful white rose to represent the female role.  Once the composition was set I began the painting process. Then, when the oil painting was dry, I created a variety of book cover designs for Aubrey Wynne to choose from. We then selected four final designs and allowed our fans and followers to vote on their favourite.  I am so pleased with the final results and hope to work with Aubrey Wynne again!

I was very happy to oblige when Sandra Tyler of "The Woven Tale Press" asked to feature my blog in her magazine. It is always such an honour when someone thinks my work is worth sharing. Yet Sandra went above and beyond by giving the creation of my series "Restless In Wonderment" a two page feature and using one of my artworks from the series as the front and back cover of the magazine. ART BATTLE 66

I have some VERY exciting news!

I have been invited to compete against 15 other Toronto based artists at ART BATTLE 66!
The battle takes place next Tuesday September 24th, 2013 at The Great Hall.
Doors open at 7:30 and painting begins at 8:00!

The Art Battles take place across Canada and gives upcoming artists 20mins to prove their skill and win a bit of cash. The winner is based on audience vote so, needless to say, I would absolutely love your support at this event! If you can't make it, well wishes are great too! :)

I have always been inspired to create portraiture that expresses emotion and character. Yet after numerous portrait paintings I have learned that a large portion of that spirit comes from truly accurate and expressive eyes. Over the years, painting the eyes in my portraits has become my most favourite part of the painting process. It was with this in mind that I decided to create “Seeing Into The Soul”. With this series I hope to portray the emotion and character of each female. The women chosen for this project vary in size, age, ethnicity, and profession and, with no other features present; I hope to capture their “being” with accurate paintings of their eyes. I present to you ‘Seductive’, ‘Sultry’, ‘Secretive’, ‘Serious’, ‘Sweet’, and ‘Sensitive’.

When author Aubrey Wynne asked me if I would be interested in creating a book cover for her I was over the moon excited.  This is the first book cover I have ever created and I think it turned out beautifully.
