On May 27th 2014 I had the pleasure of competing in ART BATTLE 142 at The Great Hall in Toronto! This was my second time competing and I was determined to have fun, paint loose, and just relax and enjoy the whole experience. In total 24 artists competed and I must admit the competition was fierce! I wasn't one of the artists to make it on to the final round but I sure had fun! What an amazing night!

BIG ART BOOK 2014 And Juror's Choice Award!

I am so thrilled and incredibly honoured to have my artwork chosen to be featured in Scarborough Arts' BIG ART BOOK 2014! The call for artists went out to all those working in Ontario; visual artists, photographers, and writers; and apparently the response was immense. This makes getting accepted even more of an accomplishment, one I really wasn't expecting. Just when I thought this opportunity couldn't get any better I was informed that my piece "Seeing Into The Soul" was awarded "Juror's Choice"! I am absolutely ecstatic! Thank you so much for seeing the beauty and skill in my work Scarborough Arts! I cannot wait to get my copy of the book!

Playing The Tourist At Ripley's Aquarium!

My fiance Darren and I decided to play the tourist last weekend by visiting Canada's new Ripley's Aquarium! 

We had lots of fun and would definitely suggest giving it a visit!

We both found the "Canadian Waters" really interesting! 

I never knew these freaky looking guys were in our lakes!

HUGE lobster! 

But the most exciting experience was the "Rainbow Reef" where you stand on a moving 

walkway and are brought through a clear tunnel making you feel like you are under the water.  

You're absolutely surrounded by fish and feel as though you could reach out and touch them. 

And the COLOURS were just incredible!

And lastly, my favourite, the beautiful jellyfish!

I was contacted last summer by a patron hoping to commission an original artwork for her friend who was getting married. The beautiful couple had had an exciting life together thus far and had lived and traveled in multiple locations around the world. The client wanted to incorporate the couple in a surrealistic or abstracted way so I designed this composition that camouflages a basic portrait of the couple amongst skylines of the most memorable cities of their life together. The first skyline starting from the bottom depicts Holyhead, UK which is near the husbands birthplace. The dark red skyline depicts Toronto which is where the bride was originally from. At this point their journey together begins. The dark blue skyline depicts Melbourne, Australia where the couple met and lived together for many years. The yellow skyline represent Brussels, Belgium where the couple spent more happy years together. The light blue skyline depicts Morocco where the gentleman proposed at sunset, hence the sunset colours. The light red skyline depicts Zug, Switzerland where they would be making their new home. And the light green skyline depicts Bodelwyddan Castle where they would be getting married. Lastly, the final strip features a lightly cloudy bright blue sky alluding to the beginning of their life together as a married couple. So much thought and many many weeks went into creating this beautiful piece. I hope the couple truly loves it! :)

This mixed media artwork was inspired by the Mykonos sunset my fiance Darren and I watched while visiting the Greek Islands. We had seen the famous Oia sunset the night before, and it was amazing, but this one felt more romantic and the colours were moving. I hope that the piece gives the viewers a sense of calm and comfort and that the beauty of the Greek Islands shines through the depiction.
