Gallery 50
Art & Design District, Toronto
November 16-20 2016
Closing Party: Nov 19th 2016, 7PM-10PM
After a quiet Opening Day I was really looking forward to my Closing Party to celebrate my hard work with some family, friends, fans, and my muses for my new artworks. I was not disappointed! Almost everyone who planned to come was able to make it, despite the terrible weather we had that evening, including all of my muses and even some muses from past shows/artworks. Gallery 50 was a beautiful venue for this type of event and everyone was welcome to enjoy snacks and wine while taking their time looking at my artwork up close and personal. I even had the chance to talk to almost all of my guests, what a joy!
That evening the father of one of my muses and long time supporter, Danielle St Laurent, decided to buy one of my pieces for her as a surprise Christmas gift. I was floored! There's nothing more special than one of my pieces going to someone who truly appreciates it and connects with it; and apparently she had loved this piece (created in 2012) for many years. You can imagine the complete range of emotions that set in when I arrived to uninstall my exhibition the next day, only to find that the piece was gone. Turns out the owner, not knowing I had sold it, sold it to a guest staying in her B&B. That very lovely guest was kind enough to wait for me to arrive at the gallery thinking he would be giving me some really amazing news. It was but it wasn't! LOL I was so touched that he liked my work and felt it was the perfect gift for his Niece on her wedding day, but I was so disappointed that my lack of communication led to my dear Danielle not being able to receive her Christmas gift. Thankfully, everything turned out well, actually it all worked out for the better! After speaking with Danielle's parents (who were very kind and understanding) I decided to create a similar piece in a new updated style with Danielle and her beautiful spirit in mind. The piece was a hit! Thanks to her lovely family I was able to see her Christmas day reaction to her gift (what a gift that was for me ... I definitely shed happy tears!). I absolutely love the new piece and look forward to sharing it with you soon!
As for all those who took the time to attend my Closing Reception Party for my "Beauty Is Varied" exhibition, I want to say THANK YOU! I put so much of myself and SO much work into it, all I wanted in return was for people to come and enjoy it. You made that wish come true! Your continued support and encouragement is beyond appreciated. Well wishes and love to you always!

One of my favourite photos of the evening, Myself with my lovely fan Emma. This piece was her favourite of the bunch. :)
I always greatly appreciate the support of these two AMAZING people; Carlos Sa Rodrigues and Tanzina Amin, the owners of Artusiasm Gallery.
My hunny Darren talking with Danielle St Laurent's hunny Stu Edwards.
These two beautiful people, Adam and Andrea Rivard, have been so incredibly supportive of me. They started out as Darren's friends (Darren and Adam go way back) but I'm lucky to call them friends now too. It always means the world to me when they come out to my events. :)
The absolutely stunning Alyestal and I next to my piece "Cheeky Beauties" 'Silly Goose' inspired by her quirky side!
Alyestal alongside my portrait of her. She is an AMAZING poet! Check her out online.
My family .... where would I be without them?
I am super blessed to call this lovely lady my friend. Alexa Trilli is a glitter artist, curator, and owner/operator of the Emerging Toronto Artist Awards. I have seen her blossom into the most kick ass female ever!
Sign the guest book, please! Haha :)
Yummy snacks and drinks (of which I could not consume, but I do hope others enjoyed it!).
