Malinda Prudhomme @ The Collective Show
Sometime during the hustle and bustle of creating holiday custom artwork and going away to Costa Rica I forgot to post about "The Collective Show" I took part in at the Artscape Triangle Gallery! It was a great little show that ran for about a week and though I didn't make any sales I'm glad to have had the exposure. I hope you enjoy the photos! :)

Over the weekend I received some GREAT news! My artwork "Colour Inspired Beauty" and my series "A Mark Of Beauty" were accepted into Moniker Gallery's portrait exhibition "Spitting Image". Some of you might remember that Moniker Gallery is the first gallery I exhibited at in Toronto which was also my first time exhibiting in Nuit Blanche! It was an incredible experience, a beautiful gallery, and a great crowd! I'm really looking forward to exhibiting at Moniker again and am even more excited about exhibiting in a show inspired by the art of portraiture. I hope you can make it to this awesome exhibition! It would be great to see some familiar faces and meet some of you for the first time. :)
"Living A Life Of Music"
"Living A Life Of Music"
January 2014
Acrylic Paint on Canvas
20" x 30"
COMMISSION
I was thrilled to create this custom abstract painting for my amazing cousin Nickie Beaulieu. She and her entire family have been so incredibly supportive of me throughout my artist journey. Her brother, father, and her mother had already purchased artwork from me before she made her request. Nickie will now have two of my original artworks in her home and it means so much to me that they will bring her happiness. :)
When Nickie contacted me she expressed a desire to capture her passion for music through abstract art. She said, "The reason why I want this painting done is two fold. Art and Music is very important in our family so it always makes me think of them. Also, it represents my journey in trying to hold onto the one instrument I can play, the piano". She explained that she had stopped playing the piano for many years but recently started back up and hoped to never stop again.

In order to create this custom piece I kept Nickie's passion for music in mind and tried to stay true to some guidelines she set out.
- Line work
- Music notes
- Texture
- Dark colours
- Black/Purple
- Hints of white
- A bright colour
- Piano Keys
I know Nickie loves the results! What do you think? I hope you enjoy it. :)

Exhibiting in "Black Water Art" in North Bay!
Black Water Art
White Water Gallery
122 Main Street East
North Bay, ON
Opening Reception: Friday January 17th 2014
January 17th 2014 to February 8th 2014
Tues-Sat 11:00am-4:30pm
I am excited to announce I will be exhibiting my artwork in North Bay again! Some of you may not know that I lived in North Bay for a year while I completed my minor in Visual Arts at Nipissing University. It was one of the happiest times of my life. While there I gained a connection with the community and, now that I've left, the town holds a warm place in my heart.
I've decided to renew my membership with White Water Gallery and exhibit in the "Black Water Art" exhibition. My "Seeing Into The Soul" series will be at the gallery throughout the show should anyone in the area wish to see it up close and personal. The series is for sale, and to celebrate my exhibiting in North Bay again, I've decided to list it at a special price. Attend the show for details!
If you are in the North Bay area please stop by the exhibition. As I'm not in the area I am sad to say I have to miss it. So if you happen to attend please feel free to take photos and share them with me! I would absolutely love that! Hope you can make it. :)
❤ Beautiful Baby Girl Blues ❤
January 2014
Acrylic and Oil
Paint on Canvas
8" x 10"
COMMISSION
This stunning custom eye painting was commissioned by Stacey Kerr. The piece features her beautiful little girl Phoebe's blue eyes. Babies tend to have softer and rounder features which is why I chose to utilize shadow to give depth and add realism to the eyes. It was such a pleasure to capture these incredible baby blues! I hope my artwork brings happiness to Stacey's home. :)
To commission your own 8" x 10" custom eye painting for $150.00 please contact me at Info@MalindaPrudhomme.com. :)

FIRST Completed Artwork Of 2014: "A Loving Memory"
January 2014
Oil Paint on Canvas
9" x 12"
COMMISSION
Here is my first artwork of 2014! A beautiful oil painting commissioned by Sherry Holmes O'Connor to be given to her father as a gift. The piece depicts one of the last photos taken of her father and her brother before her brother passed away. It is truly a beautiful memory. I'm very thrilled with the realism I achieved in this piece as I felt it was a bit of a challenge. The original photo was quite dark and a bit blurry so it required a lot of layers but it was all worth it in the end. I hope that this painting brings joy to Sherry's father.
